What’s Covered in the Arabic Language Solutions Elementary Course?
Our elementary course is ideal for anyone looking to develop a stronger set of Arabic language skills if they already have a basic understanding. If you are looking to boost your career, learn Arabic for a hobby or prepare for a visit to a new country, the course is ideal for equipping you with a useful set of language skills to navigate real-life situations.
Term One
To get learners started with elementary-level study, term one covers a range of basic topics and themes. This includes house and home, myself and others, work and routines, and then finishing with sport and leisure. Each of these topics is designed to expand on students’ ability to correctly describe situations, use different tenses, and express preferences.
The grammar themes focused on this term include question formation, using pronouns and adjectives, understanding how to correctly use plural patterns, plus a mix of active and passive participle forms. The intention is that this content helps students develop confidence in building on their beginner-level skills in real-life situations.
Term Two
Heading into term two, the learning objective is to expand vocabulary and communication skills for real-world situations while also mastering past tense constructions.
Themes covered are travel and tourism, food and dining, clothes and fashion, plus education and training. As the main focus is to understand different verb forms, such as double-rooted and past tense, students will learn how to speak about their previous life experiences. This will also be balanced with skills needed to converse in the present day, such as giving commands and instructions.
By mastering this blend, pupils should feel much more confident interacting with written, spoken, and conversational Arabic.
Term Three
The final objective of the elementary level course is to develop sophisticated communication skills for complex topics and master formal Arabic structures. The intention is that students either finish their Arabic studies with a strong understanding of the language or that they continue studying in the form of our pre-intermediate course.
This term covers a wide range of topics, which are news and media, climate and environment, health and illness, and then finishing with the arts and cinema. As well as developing skills and confidence using the passive voice, students will also develop an understanding of modern standard Arabic, learn conditional sentences, and perfect how to make comparisons.
